Diving gear can be purchased or rented for use in the water. There are online shops and local retail stores and boutiques. The selection of dive gear is very large and a novice will often need expert advice in order to choose the correct gear.

Renting diving gear may be the best choice for occasional diver. Dive shops will often rent dive gear. There are also stores that are located on a beach or near a body of water that will rent a diver the appropriate gear.

If a diver prefers to purchase dive gear it can be bought in many locations. Gear is most often found in sporting goods stores or dive shops, and the perfect gear can be found in both locations.
